Two types of creativity

I distinguish two types of creativity acts: one you make on your own, alone and often spontaneously. The other one is organized and played between at least two persons.

I – the advantage of playing on your own

Recently, I came across a new way of brainstorming for smaller team groups. I simply called it “College brainstorming”. It couldn’t be more suggestive. Through the collage making, you are brainstorming the ways of solving a particular situation. This is something, right?

My first brainstorming college had a completely different purpose. I actually wanted to summarize my feelings about the year behind (photo 1). By just playing I’ve realized that collage making is a very reflexive act. It is like any other storytelling. You are building it peace by peace. Every peace is an association and evoking the next move.

Later I’ve tested it on my second project and this time with a clear goal: visualization of my NGO agenda (photo 2). I found an amazingly productive time that involved both creative thinking, research, brainstorming and imagination.

The key points: Collage making is playful. It is a process out of an ordinary frame of thinking. It involves your imagination.
